Background & Rationale

There have been many important advances in business management technology this century, almost all of them enabled by ubiquitous broadband internet access, improved software development tools and the scalability and reliability of data centers. These advancements have had a significant impact on how businesses operate and how business users interact with prospects and customers especially for SMEs. Awareness of these services and how enterprises can optimally use these services for growth and development was the perceived outcome of Usage of Software and Integrated Technology in SMEs, a Corporate Training Program organized by Lovely Professional University for executives of M/S Allsoft India, Mohali. Mr. Navdeep Kumar, Assistant Professor and Mr. Dalwinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Lovely Professional University were the key facilitators.

The six-day residential program conducted in two batches focused on effective usage of internet for attracting customers and increasing footfalls. The technological advancements of internet were explained with a demonstration approach. The practical aspects of usage were discussed with participants. The schedule carried a multi-pronged approach that included inputs, audio visuals, group discussions and deliberations, demonstration and finally presentations by the participants illustrating their findings. The highlight of this program was the social and cultural evenings arranged for the participants for their unwinding.

The program received active participation of staff members from M/S Allsoft India, Mohali. The participants were appreciative of the gesture shown by the University in terms of choice of Subject Matter Expert, appropriate learning environment, venue setting, infrastructure, study tours and content delivery. They were also impressed by the subject expertise of the resource persons. The participants observed that the program was outcome oriented and gave them new insights on the topic.
