The LPU Campus is back to its hustle and bustle with the advent of the spring semester. On 19th of January, LPU was host to the book launch of PADMA by Dr Shruti Shukla. Among the attendees of this book launch event were DGP Punjab Police Suresh Arora, who has served in the Punjab Police for more than three decades and also legendary singer Gurdas Maan, whose singing is known for not being influenced by the western music.
The Chief Guest at the event, IPS DGP Punjab Police Suresh Arora inaugurated this event. The LPU students welcomed the eminent guests of this event with their marvellous performances. Gurdas Maan added more vibrancy to the stage with his refreshing and soulful voice. He also appreciated Dr Shukla for penning a powerful book that is capable of stirring emotions in its readers.
In his address to the students and the audience, Mr Suresh Arora said, “Educative creations are strong weapons to bring solid change in the society.” He lauded Dr Shruti Shukla for writing this book and said that she has created a history by writing this book which is a tribute to her mother-in-law.
Dr Shruti Shukla, who is the State Coordinator Guidance Bureau-Cum-Deputy Director, SCERT Punjab addressed the audience and said about her book, “I wrote many academic books by the mind, but Padma is the book I wrote by my soul.” The book is dedicated to the momentous life journey of her mother. She also thanked Mr Maan and Mr Arora for acknowledging her book.
A thoughtful discussion was held between Dr Shruti Shukla and Dr Sunaina Ahuja on today’s young generation which is continuously changing the trends. They advised the LPU students to spend as much time with their family members as possible even in their busy lives.
