Age is just a number and you are never too old to learn. This was rightly proved by an 83-year-old, Sohan Singh Gill, who earned his Master’s degree on September 18, 2019, during 10th Convocation held in Lovely Professional University.
Hailing from a village of Hoshiarpur, Gill had left studies in the year 1957 after he completed his graduation from Khalsa College in Mahipalpur. Two years ago, at the age of 81, Gill decided to join a Distance Education Programme and completed his Master’s in English.
He said, “With my will power and God’s Grace, I have finally achieved what I always desired. English has been my favourite language right from childhood. During my stay in Kenya, I got a chance to master it.” Born on August 15, 1937, Gill studied in rural schools. Apart from the English language, he had an interest in sports, especially Hockey.
