It’s been a few days since we got our exam results! Perhaps, you are experiencing one of the two reactions- Over the moon or Down in the dumps. But still, there is always a lot of scope for improvement after results, either good or bad. I know the above statement may not make sense to you for now. However, I’m very sure this article will change your opinion.
As you sow, so shall you reap – let’s face this truth with a positive mindset. You may feel: “I worked hard, so I deserve better”. Yeah, even we all expect the same. But, let me add a bitter fact to it – there is a high chance of error or in your preparation. Besides, it’s equally weird to have bad results after the best practice.
So, I’m here with a few strategies to cope with the news of terrible results:
- Calm down first and accept the results: You will say, “Seriously.” I will say, “Obviously” because you are not the only one who is facing this! But you may be the one who will never allow this to happen again. So, calm down and accept the situation and results.
- Analyze the result: This is the most appropriate step one can take after getting bad grades. You need to analyze your results and try to figure out what went wrong like bad presentation style, insufficient knowledge, etc.
- Work on loopholes: So when you have the idea of why your grades are low, I’m sure you will find ways to improve them. Example,
- If your presentation style is not good, you have to practice a lot to get better and fetch good marks. So, after learning a new concept, try to present it on a sheet in a best way possible.
- If you lack knowledge in concept, try to give more time to that concept for clarity and understanding.
- If you forget some primary data, facts and significant points usually, then note them down on one page and revise them regularly.
- Learn from mistakes and move on: Always remember that your goal is to improve by learning from your mistakes. So never stick to bad situations or results for a long time because every problem or situation is temporary. So, learn a lesson from mistakes and move on; that’s more important.
- Don’t criticize yourself: This has become quite common when we face bad situations and blame ourselves. It doesn’t seem right. Because when we rebuke ourselves a lot, then we ultimately create pressure on our mind which hampers our productivity at last. So, share your feelings with your parents, friends, and teachers.
Finally, I would conclude this whole article with one thought – “Bad things can happen to anyone and anytime, but what you learn from them matters the most.” Follow these strategies and score better next time.
All the best!
