Lovely Professional University Assistant Professor Dr Vinod Kumar from the School of Arts & Languages has been honoured with the ‘Glory of India Award for Education Excellence’. The Economic Growth Society of India has awarded Dr Vinod in recognition of his sterling merit, excellence, performance and outstanding contribution towards the nation and the world. The award ceremony was held during a national seminar on ‘Individual Growth and Social Development’ at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Panaji, Goa. Out of a total 150+ people considered for awards only 22 educationists from across India were chosen.
Presently, Dr Vinod is providing research guidance to LPU’s Ph D and M Phil students. LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal congratulated Dr Vinod on his achievement and encouraged him to continue devoting himself to the betterment of education and the society. Feeling proud and motivated on receiving the award, Dr Vinod shared,“Through continuous efforts at my subject, including computational linguistics workshops, research and more, I want to prove that even a Hindi language student is as able as a scholar of any other stream.”
Very humble and humane, Dr Vinod wants to bring total happiness to society as he feels, “How can I be in a progressive and prosperous state if persons around me are living in pitiable conditions. I always keep apart a part of my salary for needy students. Promoting Hindi language and literature, I also impart free Hindi typing lessons to my students so that they may even get well placed in Fortune 500 companies or news agencies as content writers/translators etc.”
It is worth mentioning that Maharishi Sandeepini National Ved Vidya Pratisthan (Ujjain), running under Human Resource Development Ministry of India, has organized a series of hundred Vedic lectures for which Dr Vinod has recently been appointed a Resource Person. As an individual author, Dr Vinod has two important books to his credit in the field of drama-‘Ramesh Bakshi ke Natakon maen Rangmanchiyata’ and ‘Surendra Varma ke Natakon main Rangmanchiyata’. In addition, a large number of his research papers have been published in national and international journals. He is also a recipient of other prestigious conferment including “Sammaan Patra for Development of Hindi” and “Gold Medal for Best Research Paper ‘Stress and Education’”.
