The Human Resource Development Center (HRDC), in collaboration with the Division of Academic Affairs (DAA), Lovely Professional University (LPU), successfully organized the Refresher Course on Effective Teaching: Mastering Teaching Skills for Classroom Excellence from February 28 to May 02, 2026. The refresher course focused on key teaching skills such as introducing the topic, effective use of the whiteboard, reinforcement, probing questioning, stimulus variation, explanation, and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in classroom teaching. There was an active participation of faculty members across disciplines and aimed to strengthen teaching competencies through the effective application of micro-teaching skills and AI-enabled pedagogical practices for classroom excellence. The course commenced with an inaugural session moderated by Dr. Harish Mittu, Professor, Department of Faculty Development, HRDC, LPU followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. Mr. Sarabjit Singh Kwatra, Associate Dean, HRDC, LPU highlighted the significance and objectives of the refresher course and welcomed the participants and resource persons.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor, LPU encouraged faculty members to adopt student-centric and outcome-oriented teaching practices while highlighting the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in preparing future-ready learners.

Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor & Dean, Head – Human Resource Development Center, LPU, in her address, emphasized the significance of continuous professional development, innovative pedagogy, and technology-enabled teaching practices for creating learner-centric classrooms.

Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta demonstrated the application of Teachgenie.ai in enhancing lesson planning, adaptive learning, automated assessments, and real-time feedback, thereby transforming classrooms into more interactive and outcome-oriented learning spaces.

The refresher course was facilitated by a panel of experts, including Dr. Sujata Bhan, Professor and Dean, School of Education and Department of Psychology, LPU, Dr. Jyoti Gupta, Associate Professor, DAA, LPU, Mr. Vaibhav Chadha, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering, LPU, and Dr. Harish Mittu, Professor, Department of Faculty Development, HRDC, LPU, who provided participants with a series of insightful, interactive, and practice-oriented sessions on effective teaching and innovative pedagogical practices.



The programme concluded with a comprehensive Teach Back session conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gupta and Dr. Harish Mittu, where participants demonstrated the integrated application of the micro-teaching skills acquired during the course. The presentations reflected noticeable improvement in participants’ confidence, clarity of communication, and overall teaching effectiveness.

The refresher course was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor & Dean, Head, HRDC, LPU and efficiently coordinated by Dr. Harish Mittu, along with Mr. Rahul Kanojia and Ms. Khushboo Saini, ensuring its smooth and successful execution.
