Lovely Professional University (LPU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met) at the campus today.  For this important collaboration, Programme Director for MSc Food Science & Technology at Cardiff Met Prof Simon Dawson visited LPU Campus and met top management, senior functionaries and also visited the related departments at LPU. The collaboration is to develop food-technology twinning programmes, student & faculty exchange programmes, articulation, joint research works and more. LPU Registrar Dr Monica Gulati signed the MoU on behalf of LPU. Director, Division of International Affairs at LPU, Mr Aman Mittal, Dean Agriculture Department Prof Dr Ramesh Sadavarti and Dean Bio-Technology Department Prof Dr Neeta Raj Sharma also witnessed the collaborative endeavour.

 

On this occasion, Prof Dawson held that “In line with Cardiff Met’s internationalisation strategy, it is seeking to develop high-quality transnational education (TNE) partnerships, and we are delighted to now be working with LPU. We hope that the partnership with LPU will flourish, enable students to study Cardiff Met programmes and to develop staff and student exchanges between Cardiff Met and LPU.” Having extensive experience in developing food safety and quality management systems, Prof Dawson, at Food Industry Centre of Cardiff Met, works on food and drink businesses, assisting with food safety, product development and quality matters. Using a variety of innovative teaching techniques, he motivates students for higher level qualifications and employment also.

 

Endorsing the commitment to the collaboration with Cardiff Met Uni, Director Mr Mittal shares: ‘Internationalisation is at the core of LPU strategic objectives. This MoU with Cardiff Met marks an important milestone in the realisation of LPU’s aim to globalize Indian education. We hope this understanding will pave the way ahead to much wider and fruitful collaboration.’
