Wouldn’t it be great if we could just earn back money while we shopped? Well, a solution has been given by Lyoness, a global loyalty rewards program that provides a mutually beneficial relationship between international shoppers and merchants.
School of Business took up the challenge to imbue Live Projects in the teaching pedagogy and in the fold of this initiative, the Marketing Department under the aegis of Dr. Anand Thakur and Mr. Rajesh Dorbala, collaborated with Lyoness International to help them expand their business in India.
Interacting with the students in block 14-310 in School of Business, Mr. Livio Morina, Head of Italian operations for Lyoness, along with his Indian counterpart, shared this unique concept with students working on this Live Project. The company initiated its operations in India in July 2016 and is gaining a lot of popularity because of its spectacular business model of loyalty programs. During his interaction with the students, Mr. Morina explained the model in detail and also briefed the students about the process involved. He shared the use of different marketing strategies as a tool to increase sales in the practical world. In a four hour session students were given live training to use loyalty programs – how more customers can be prospected and how a shopping community can be built by simple word-of-mouth advertising. At the end of the session, students were also provided with loyalty cards. The interaction concluded with a felicitation of the guests by Dr. Sanjay Modi, Executive Dean, Lovely Professional University.
