Certification Course in Computing Skills was organized by Human Resource Development Center, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara w.e.f. 07-Feb-22 to 12-Feb-22. The program aimed at capacity in computing skills specifically developing a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
Mr. Puneet Soni, Senior Officer-Human Resource Development Center was invited as the Subject Matter Expert. The SME deliberated on developing skills in excel for performing accurate data analysis and data management. Subject Matter expert focused on:
- Creating dynamic report with Excel Pivot Table
- Understanding WHEN, WHY and HOW to use chart types
- Unlock the power and versatility of Google sheet Addon
- Learn how to THINK like Excel, write powerful and dynamic excel formulas
The sessions were conducted in a participative environment giving opportunities for open discussion, brainstorming and hands-on learning. The participants were assigned with Project-Based Assessment based on the contents thus exhibiting the skills acquired during the certification course.
The Program Convener Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor and Dean, Head- Human Resource Development Center, LPU shared the program objectives and pedagogy. She congratulated the Organizing Team and Subject Matter Expert on the successful completion of the program. In response to the feedback w.r.t. program effectiveness, the participants found the program to be rich in content. The structure of the program was well planned. The response of the Subject Matter Expert to the queries of the participants was appreciated. It was conducted in a participative environment giving opportunities for discussion and hands-on learning. The participants observed that the program gave them new insights on the topic and was relevant for enhancement in quality of skills required for Data Analysis.
