“I put in my resignation….the entire staff was baffled by my decision, but my heart almost came out of my chest, hugging me for choosing a life which was actually calling me…”

What separates LPU from other institutions in the country is the diversity of its achievements. Sports, research, cultural events, academics, CSR, LPU has distinguished itself in every sphere. What it didn’t have so far was a romance writer. Keshav Verma, Management Faculty, has remedied the situation.  His novel ‘Promise Me a Million Times – A love story’ has been bought by one of the finest publishing houses, and is set to release on 1st August, 2016.

Telling us the story of how his novel got written, Mr. Verma, who goes by the pen name of Keshav Aneel, talks of resigning from his corporate job to fulfill his dream of being a novelist, “I put in my resignation. For a moment, the entire staff was baffled by my decision but my heart almost came out of my chest, hugging me for choosing a life which was actually calling me than being stomped in some rat race. All of friends, family and colleagues were sad with my decision, giving me example of how a stalwart like Chetan Bhagat made his career in this field of literature. I had only one thing to say to them “Maybe I am not as wise as him to plan my life accordingly. I am stupid and being childish. But I see no reason wasting my time in something I don’t want to be in for long.” I thought struggling in the field I belong is far better for me to succeed at what didn’t matter to me.”

This was his “rebirth” he says, a second chance, which is what his novel is also about. The blurb of the novel reads –

Believing that life always gives us all a second chance is too bookish a thought. Because sometimes, by the time we finally realize our faults and true potential, times have changed dramatically.

Like a couple of migratory birds, both Charlie and Edwin leave everything
back in their village and settle for a new life in the big city. For Edwin, it
was where he was going to chase his dreams of becoming an actor; But for
Charlie, it was just another place to be with his only friend, to help him
accomplish his dreams.

However, life seemed to have different plans as it throws Charlie in Aster’s way, who was silently walking through instabilities of her own destiny. He could never have guessed, but he was in for an absolute never thought of phase of profoundness, which was going to last forever.”

All the best Mr. Aneel, LPU is all anticipation!
