So, here is a list of a few places that you can visit in short or long universities vacations.
Punjab
College’s home state Punjab is full of irresistible places which are best visiting in your short vacations. Usually, students just visit the Golden Temple but there is a lot more even in Amritsar like Jallianwala Bagh, Durgiana Temple, and Wagha Border. Other cities like Patiala for its monuments, Ludhiana for its pocket-friendly market and modern city Chandigarh for its Sukhna Lake, Rock, and Rose gardens are also famous attractions. Punjab trip is perfect if you want a budget tour.
Haridwar – Rishikesh
Haridwar and Rishikesh trip is among the famous trips of campus. There are various things to do like visiting Har Ki Pauri, Mansa Devi Temple on the ropeway which gives picturesque scenery of the whole city. After that, you can proceed to Rishikesh for visiting spiritual places like Neelkanth Temple and try adventurous activities like rafting in the Ganges over 16Kilometer. The whole trip will hardly take 2-3 days.
Delhi
Delhi just 6-7 hour from Phagwara can be an awesome place for you if you want a modern and tasteful trip. You can start with the Red Fort and its historic museum nearby which is the famous Parathewali Gali which serves nations best sweets and Parathas. Along with Humayun tomb go for the Jama Masjid where you will find 19th-century non-veg restaurants. Also spend at least a whole day in Old Delhi, wandering on the streets and trying the best street food.
Manali
Manali is best to visit in your winter vacation but also best in summers. Students usually go there, trek a little, enjoy the snow and return. But it offers much more exciting places and things to experience. Visit the famous Manu Temple, a picture point of Manali famous for its colorful architecture, Manali wildlife sanctuary, and Arjun Gufa. If you are a thrill-seeker you should try trekking, camping, and gliding at Solang valley. For making the trip more lovely rent a bike for a long bike ride on Rohtang pass.
Jammu
Easily reachable from buses or trains from Phagwara, Jammu should be your vacation spot for de-stressing yourself with nature. Start your trip from trekking Vaishno Devi Temple, it will a whole day. You will be hypnotized by the architecture of Mubarak Mandi Palace, Jammu’s picture spot. Bagh-e-Bahu, a beautiful garden spread over acres attracts tourist with its enormous varieties of flowers and design. You can also try skiing depending on season at Patnitop.
