Organized for the first time at LPU Campus, OCLD test declared 8 LPU students successful among a total of 12 selected from the whole of Punjab.
Bridging gap between academia and industry, the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD) of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts Group joined hands with Lovely Professional University to conduct its recruitment test for selection of human resource from Punjab. Organized first time at LPU Campus, OCLD test declared 8 LPU students successful among a total of 12 selected from Punjab. More than 250 students had appeared for the test from 10 Institutions of Punjab including PCTE Ludhiana, DBU Mandi Gobindgarh, GNA, CT, Doaba College Jalandhar and more. LPU students will join their duties as Guest Service Associates in different service sectors of the Group at handsome salary package after completion of their programs in June 2016. Four more LPU students have also been selected for training initiatives within the Group’s different endeavours.
Some of the selected students, Akshay of BHMCT Program (7th Semester), Shubham Sharma & Shubham Kumar both of B Sc Hotel Management (5th Semester) have one thing in common that they have been selected before completion of their final semester examinations. Oberoi Udaivailas (Udaipur) trainee during his 5th Semester of LPU program, self motivated Akshay is selected as House Keeping Associate. As interaction with different sects of persons was his great hobby, he always wanted to cash it, and so he preferred LPU. Trident Jaipur trainee in the 2nd year of his LPU Program, Sharma is passionate about hotel and tourism profession right from his childhood. Being native of Palampur city of Himachal Pradesh, where tourists keep on flowing, he is akin to his present job offered. Selected as Kitchen Associate, Sharma is now very eager to serve group’s customers with his relishing dish preparations. Kumar always wanted to be an Air Force officer like his father; however, his next choice of Hotel Management Program which he joined at LPU coming from 1700 Kms away from his home has now earned him rich fortunes. He has been trained at Group’s Cecil Shimla, and always working hard is his passion. All three of them shared unanimously that academic excellence at LPU, and full guidance of LPU teachers has enabled them to be selected by Oberoi Group.
Congratulating the selected students, LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal informed: “A large number of trained & skilled professionals are required to work for Hotel Management sector in all parts of the world.
