In one-of-its unique initiatives, Lovely Professional University conducted an Online Induction Programme for its newly enrolled Distance and Online Education students. The induction programme, also LIVE streamed on YouTube, was attended by thousands of students from various disciplines including Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Commerce, Arts and Library & Information Sciences.
Online mode learners with diverse backgrounds and profiles from different parts of India and countries like Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, UAE, and Netherlands attended this virtual induction programme. The programme proved to be especially beneficial for working professionals pursuing Distance Education programmes, who used to face difficulty attending the physical induction programme on campus.
During the induction programme, students got oriented about the systems and processes of the Distance and Online Learning study modes of the University. In this regard, various interactive sessions were held on University Campus, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Learning Management System, Academic Delivery, Evaluation System, and Students’ Support Services.
Students also had the opportunity for getting their different doubts cleared by directly interacting with senior functionaries of LPU’s Centre for Distance and Online Education.
Worth noticing, LPU is providing all the opportunities to its online and distance learners at par with regular-mode students, which is attracting thousands of aspirants looking for flexible modes for pursuing their higher education. Various personnel, including high ranked officers, from forces, sports, education, administrative & allied services have availed LPU’s these programs to upgrade their educational qualifications and skills.
