Digital Humanities has many intersectional disciplines with their root disciplines. In this context there is a need to train faculty members and students on this subject. The School of Social Sciences & Languages, Human Resource Development Center-LPU organised, ‘Short Term Course on Text Analysis and Pedagogy in Digital Humanities w.e.f Sept 26, 2022 to Oct 01, 2022. The course received active participation of Faculty Members and Research Scholars across India. The course was instrumental in capacity building in- Digital Humanities in terms of literary texts/ data analysis, Digital Humanities teaching & pedagogies, developing digital tools to be used in humanities and text analysis with Atlas.ti.
Program convener Prof.(Dr.) Sunaina Ahuja, Professor and Dean, Human Resource Development Center, Lovely Professional University in her welcome address shared LPU-HRDC’s visionw.r.t faculty development and assured that participants would be enriched with Digital Humanities as this is the fastest developing academic and research domain in the global higher education system. Digital Humanities teaches how to study Humanities intersecting it with digital technology in terms of its evaluation, analysis, dissemination, and preservation of the human knowledge system and vice-versa. “The Short Term Course is unique in terms of Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment methods,” she expressed.
Program Convener Prof. (Dr.) Pavitar Prakash Singh, Professor and Dean, LPU in his inaugural address expressed that Digital Humanities has many intersectional disciplines with their root disciplines such as Digital Literary Studies, Digital Culture, Digital History and so on. The need of the hour is to develop a sound methodological base of how to teach such a multifarious branch of knowledge to cope up with future challenges.

Dr. Girish Nath Jha deliberated on Digital Literary Studies and Indic Knowledge System, Dr. Smita Jha focused Multi-disciplinarized Humanities: Aspects of NEP 2020 & Digital Humanities, Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta gave hands on experience on Interface of Atlas.ti, the Quantitative Data Analysis (QDA): Coding, Memo, & Quotations QDA with Atlas.ti, Developing Networks and Links, Co-Oc explorer, Table, Text Data Analysis Intensive Tutorial 1-on Search Projects, Manage Users, Text Data Analysis: Intensive Tutorial-2 Analyze, Import & Export, Visualization, and Interpretation of Visualization. The participants were appreciative of the resource persons’ expertise, teaching pedagogy and continuously maintained vibrancy and energy level throughout the program.
