Ace artists of Lovely Professional University (LPU) performed the very first cultural performance at the newly launched India’s biggest auditorium – ‘Bharat Mandapam’, situated at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It was performed in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and many other stalwarts of the education domains.

All of them applauded LPU students’ performance of the best cultural heritage of Punjab. The Hon’ble Education Minister even shared the performance related pictures of LPU students’ Bhangra Team on his personal ‘Twitter Handle’@dpradhanbjp. Mr Minister looked much joyous to watch and hear the enthralling rhythmic steps and dhol-beats during ‘Bhangra presentation’. The onlookers just couldn’t sit, and all of them kept dancing along with the LPU squad.

This lively performance by LPU students was made at the national fest ‘Yuva Sangam’, on the occasion of the inauguration of 2nd ‘Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam’ by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Moreover, the celebration coincided with the 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP)- 2020. The scintillating performance left the audience spellbound. The entire vast arena was jam-packed with onlookers, who tapped and clapped along with the performers.

Appreciating and encouraging the talented students and their mentors at the university, LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal shared: “It is indeed a matter of pride for LPU to exhilarate our talented students’ mesmerizing Bhangra performance which left the elite congregation awestruck. It’s indeed an honour for the University.” She added: “We are proud of our students who grow as all-rounders at the campus. They prove their position at the top be it the area of sports, studies, research, placements, innovations, cultural activities and more.”

In fact, LPU students practiced hard as they were to represent the culture of their Punjab State. Moreover, very few universities were selected to be part of the great national occasion.

The Yuva Sangam is an initiative of the Indian Government to build close ties between the youth of the North East Region and the rest of India under the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Under this, thousands of youth travel across India and gain a unique opportunity of cross cultural learning. This ‘Wide Cultural Exchange Program’ is to provide opportunity to Indian youth for celebrating the ancient culture and natural diversity of India, and to further enhance mutual understanding.
