Almost a month has passed and we have grown comfortable with our schedule of classes. With incoming CAs, night outs and then rushing to classes, another day goes by in a wink. You might have had a lot of plans to do something new this semester but by now you must have realized that what you thought might not possibly turn into a reality ever! Unless of course, you put in a herculean effort. So here are the few things which we think we might do at beginning of the semester and end up learning not everything is as easy as it looks.

  1. Money

Start – Saved Money in holidays to last a lifetime

End – How did I turn so broke in just a couple of months?

This is something which happens to all of us. We come from our home with our wallets blessed with riches our parents have given us and what we think it would last us a lifetime if we used it carefully enough, but soon it turns out to be altogether a different case. We are definitely broke in a few weeks time and desperately wait for next months beginning for some cash to flow in.

  1. Keeping room clean

Start – Everyday I will put things in their place.

End – I like my messier room better.

We all have been there. We think we will start keeping things in their places to get things and not have to turn the entire room upside down just to search one small ring. We even dare to imagine that every day while taking bath we will wash our clothes of the day on the spot so there is no heap of laundry at weekend. If only this was the case! This has never happened and never will happen because we are the students who are known for their love of piling things to be done on holidays.

  1. Doing CA before deadline

Start – Every CA will be done way before the deadline.

END- Every CA submitted an hour before the due time.

When have we not thought about this? “Always and forever” in wishful thinking is completely relatable here as unless you have a super important appointment on the day of deadline no student ever completed the CA before the final day. Magically our brain somehow finds amazing and convincing excuses as to why NOT doing CA much before the deadline is a good idea.

  1. Dressing Up for class

Start – I am going improve my dressing sense.

End – Tracks and T-shirts are the best clothing available.

Except for few rare people who know everything about fashion we all strive to improve our fashion sense. It is tiring but we do put in an effort but after a point, we go back to being the way we were before wherein the moment we feel that most comfortable clothes ever manufactured on planet earth were tracks and t-shirts.

  1. Getting back in shape

Start – Will definitely come back into shape as before

End – Can’t give up on food. It’s the absolute necessity in order to survive

There is this reality of college life that when you start to put in an effort to manage everything only then you realize how much your parents have done for you to smooth sailing school life. Sometimes we are not able to manage things well or because we already have too much to do at hand. We give up on few things and one of most common of them being our sports or any physical activity like exercise. And as result, a few semesters later we see molds of unwanted fat on our body which we aim to remove but that’s easier said than done as at the end, we are so used to our life without them that taking out time for it looks impossible. And we just accept it as a part of us.
