LPU Law Department invited Mr Prabhakaran Ramachandran, who is an esteemed advocate at the apex court of India to interact with over 250 Law students at LPU School of Law. The interaction was based on analytical and critical concepts like jurisprudence. Mr Ramachandran gave an insight into it by giving examples from real life.

He guided the students to become good lawyers and serve the mankind with honesty. He helped the students understand what makes this profession so revered. He shared his experiences of providing free legal services to the poor and underprivileged and told that he sought to promote the spirit of service in the budding lawyers. He also explained about the section of Indian Constitution that directs the state to provide free legal services available to everyone, so that justice does not evade anyone just because of lack of money.

He discussed the jurisprudence prevalent in the modern time and how it also existed in the ancient times as mentioned in the ancient “Dharma Shastra Texts”. At that time, there were oral laws and customs which used to be verbally transmitted by one generation to the another. Describing various fields of jurisprudence, he elaborated about various consequences from the operation of legal rules. He explained about how legal practice affects the psychological well-being of the people; the goal or purpose of law; types of punishment should be permitted; various rights of people; duties to obey the law; and more. Participating Law students shared their happiness on getting valuable guidance.

The interactive session ended on a positive note. The students made the best of this opportune moment to ask their questions and to understand the profession of Law from the eyes of an expert. It is worth mentioning that being governed and regulated by the Bar Council of India (BCI), the curriculum at LPU School of Law is bench-marked with top national institutions and grooms its students from across the globe for a bright professional career ahead. It provides a wide range of exposure on theoretical as well as practical aspects of law.
