LPU is making new strides in the placement of their students with the best brands and comapanies. 2015-16 saw them upping the game by setting the ‘highest number of placements in a day’ record. International placements by Qatar Airways at Rs. 20 lakh, and Hyatt Hotel USA at Rs. 15 lakh were the highlights of the sessions placements. Other top salary offering companies remained Air India (Rs 8.5 Lakh), Practo Technologies (Rs 7.08 Lakh), Josh Technology Rs 6.5 Lakh, and LG Soft (Rs 5.5 Lakh) .
200+ placement drives were made by top brands including 100+ drives for technology & sciences’ students and 60 for business administration students. Under these drives, LPU students got placements in different sectors including Management, IT, Engineering, Banking, Agriculture, Consultancy, Architecture, Pharmaceuticals and other. By recruiting 550 students in a single drive, IT giant Cognizant once again remained the top recruiter across all sectors. It was followed by Tech Mahindra’s selection of 249 students and I Gate Global Solutions’ recruitment of 73. As is evident from the above, the largest number of recruitments happened for engineering students again.
LPU School of Hotel Management witnessed 100% placement of its students with biggies like ITC Hotels, Bercos, The Grand, and Zuri Whitefields scooping up the best. Management students are picked by global giants like XL Dynamics (75), Think & Learn (33), Practo Technologies (32), and MRF Tyres (13) while Pharmacy students were absorbed in large numbers by prestigious companies including Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Abbot India, Jubilant Chemsys, Life-Cell International, Omics Group; Fashion Technology students were absorbed by well known labels like Tommy Hilfiger, Biba Apparels, Madura Fashions and Vardhman Polytex; and agriculture students by Zenesis Agro-science and more. Education and physical education students also got coveted placements at Leap Start, Akal Academies, Focus Academy, and Imperial Sports Academy, Kooh Sports, Decathalon and more.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal encouraged students with the words “Always ‘Think Big’, LPU students have proven themselves in all spheres with great placement records during this session also. We feel proud when top recruiters speak appreciatively about the potential of LPU students and make them secure placement offers semesters before their final examinations. Many students bag more than 3-4 offers. I am happy to share that as per today, LPU alumni are working world over at packages up to Rs. 1 crore, and are employed with prestigious companies including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Dell, Cisco, Oracle, Cadence and more.”
