On 20th September, The School of Journalism and Film Production, LPU organized an event, MOCK INVESTIGATION, investigative journalism with a twist. The event started at 12:30 pm in Department of Journalism, Block 20. Participants were divided in groups of 3 members, each representing a copywriter, a photographer, and a reporter. The conclusive element of the task given to the participants was to develop a report that will provide answers to all the questions they were asked. The many mysteries that surrounded the case were given to the participants in the form of clues and characters.

The case for investigation revolved around an unfortunate murder of a gay couple. Their best friend, who abruptly enters the scene becomes the only witness to this tragedy. The various pieces of evidence the participants were provided were, the post-mortem report of the victim and time-date details of the murder.

The participants were given the time duration of 3 hours to solve this complex murder mystery and file a report in a journalistic pattern. The method and analogy used by the students should provide a journalistic opinion of the case.
