But this time, they have made a phenomenal victorious start to the year 2021 by bagging ten medals and making LPU the single institution to win most positions at the 24th National Youth Festival (NYF) 2020-21 organized in association with the Department of Youth Affairs & Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India!
The four-Day long 24th National Youth Festival (NYF) 2021 was organized functionally by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi, and got introduced by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. After four-day neck-to-neck competitions between various states, the proud Vertos of Lovely Professional University empowered the Punjab State to lift the Winner’s Trophy of the fest, beating any remaining states. The gigantic winning streak made by the talented scholars of Lovely Professional University was remarkable and received acknowledgment by all the universities across India. The presence of Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports) and Smriti Zubin Irani (Ministry of Women and Child Development) graced the valedictory ceremony. And, out of the all-out 23 winning positions proclaimed for Punjab State, LPU won ten distinguished positions, leading the state on the triumph list.
Lovely Professional University not only was phenomenal with its performances but also arose as the top university among 16 Indian States and UTs’ universities to bag the maximum awards, including 5 Gold and 5 Bronze. Wherein any remaining partaking colleges couldn’t win over 4 gold awards independently. Even a solitary state or UT couldn’t amass 9 awards in contrast to 10 won by LPU. Enthralled with the victory in NYF, the LPU family & Mr. Ashok Mittal (LPU Chancellor) praised the promising & talented Vertos and applauded them for their glorious win. In a recent press release, Mr. Mittal shared, “LPU students’ different teams also displayed the exemplary spirit of national integration, communal harmony, brotherhood, courage, and adventure-the elements focussed primarily on the annual national fest.” Adding further, Mr. Mittal, still overwhelmed with the ‘Overall Champions‘ title at the ‘Punjab State Youth Festival 2021,’ said that the talented Vertos, after triumphing on the state level, now hoisted the university flag on the national level.
Among all the competitions, LPU won gold in film contemporary dance (solo), street & group play, creative writing, and panel discussion; while bagged Bronze in film contemporary dance (group), design-traditional, stand-up comedian act, poetry writing & narration, and panel discussion.
The National Youth Festival 2021, themed YUVAAH – Utsaah Naye Bharat Ka, celebrated and recognized the energy of new India by giving a stage to the adolescent to feature their ability in categories of music, dance, territorial, theatre, visual expressions, and many more. Celebrated on birth remembrance of youth image Swami Vivekananda, NYF is an annual mega social occasion of youth with different events and competitions. And this year, on the 24th anniversary of NYF, LPU has demonstrated a phenomenal performance and proved to be a talent powerhouse.
