Lovely Professional University believes in innovation and collaboration in every field. And could there be any better way to bring together young, creative minds than through a hackathon like MEDHA 2023?
LPU organized Medical Device Hackathon MEDHA 2023 on campus in collaboration with Biomedical Engineering & Technology Innovation Centre (BETIC), IIT Bombay. From May 6-7, 2023, the first stage of this hackathon hosted on campus brought together the brightest minds in the medical technology industry.
MEDHA is a medical device hackathon bringing together interdisciplinary teams to explore medical device innovation. The hackathon is open to final-year UG/PG students or professionals with any of these backgrounds, including medical, physiotherapy, pharma, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, design, management, commerce, etc.
During the two-day hackathon, we witnessed various teams presenting cutting-edge models to an expert jury panel. Each group comprised 4 participants from medicine, design, electronics, and mechanical backgrounds. And, each team was mentored by a senior innovator or entrepreneur from BETIC network.
Various esteemed guests gathered on campus to create innovative solutions and address some of the pressing healthcare challenges of our time. We were honored to have Dr. S.S. Dhingra, DMC Hospital, Jalandhar, and Dr. Sanjeev Mahajan, Director Orthopedic, Fortis Ludhiana who graced us with their invaluable insights.

Bringing innovation to the forefront of healthcare, Medha 2023, the Medical Device Hackathon at Lovely Professional University, was a huge success! We look forward to the next edition of this event which will be held at IIT Bombay in June.
