The season of spring painted Lovely Professional University (LPU) in a breathtaking symphony of colors, fragrances, and nature’s finest creations! The Spring Flower Show 2025, organized by the school of agriculture, was a mesmerizing tribute to botanical beauty, where every petal whispered a story, and every bloom added a touch of magic.
The two-day event witnessed an overwhelming response with over 1,500+ entries and participation from more than 20 external institutions, including schools, colleges, nurseries, industry professionals, and farmers. The exhibition featured an astounding display of over 80+ types of flowering plants and 50+ varieties of foliage plants, including breathtaking gladiolus, roses, carnations, lilies, phlox, dianthus, gerbera, and exotic species like aglaonema, snow white, dieffenbachia, bonsai, cactus, alternanthera, ferns, and palms. Intricately designed flower rangolis made from marigold, rose petals, and star flowers adorned the venue, leaving visitors in awe.
Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of LPU, inaugurated the event and commended the students for their creative ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Sandhu lauded their efforts in not only crafting a magical floral ambiance but also generating revenue through their floral enterprises, reinforcing LPU’s commitment to experiential learning and innovation-driven education.
The show was more than just a visual spectacle—it was an immersive experience celebrating floriculture through multiple creative and scientific expressions, including hands-on workshops on flower arrangement, bonsai making, and cactus grafting. A flower-themed fashion show saw students showcasing innovative outfits and ornaments crafted from synthetic and fresh flowers. Culinary innovations were presented by the School of Hotel Management, featuring floral-themed mocktails, garnished dishes, and preserves. Fine arts students captured floral beauty through live painting sessions, while photography and videography contests encouraged enthusiasts to capture the floral charm through unique perspectives. A specially curated ‘Florithon’ hackathon brought students together to propose cutting-edge solutions in floriculture, including vase life extension, essential oil extraction, and pigment development.
A major highlight was the Experiential Learning Stalls, where students demonstrated real-world agricultural applications, alongside the Value-Added Floral Products section, which featured an impressive collection of fresh and dried floral decorations, ornaments, and artistic hangings. From rare floral displays to exquisite garden arrangements, the show was a true celebration of horticultural excellence.
