Bibin Babu, an LPU MBA student was selected to be one of only 2 students representing India at Google, USA

Lovely Professional University (LPU) which has established itself as a global university encourages its students to have earn recognition and acclaim world-wide. One of such student is 22 years old Bibin Babu-an MBA pass out of this year. He hails from Kerala and joined LPU as a student of B Tech (IT) —MBA (HR) integrated programme, in 2008.

With three lucrative job-offers in hand, he is presently working with the restigious Bloomberg Institute as its ambassador. He is promoting Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) & various other Bloomberg products, all across globe. He attended a three-day Bloomberg Summit in Singapore in the month of April 2013, which was attended by top performers of Asia Pacific region.  His travels have taken Bibin, all over India and to at least 4 foreign countries.

Bibin also became one of the only two students selected by Google, for an all paid trip, to represent India at Google I/O -the world’s largest technology conference held in San Francisco this year. The other student was from IIT Mumbai. Bibin got a chance to interact with Google’s CEO Larry Page, and Senior Vice President Hugo Barra.

He humbly admits that all this would not have been possible without LPU. In fact, Google has created many Google Developer Groups (GDGs) in top cities of the world. LPU’s Bibin became the manager of GDG Jalandhar, and he organized Punjab’s first ever Developers Conference, under the sponsorship of Google. This fest (attended by hundreds of students from different institutions) focussed on Google technologies – Android, Android Apps, Google Maps, API, Google Docs, HTML5, Innovation, Entrepreneurship in IT, and lot more.

Born in a middle class family, Bibin always remained active as a student, determined to make the best of LPU opportunities. He said pf his time here, “After joining LPU, I never turned back. I availed every chance I could to develop my skills. Coming from South to North was no challenge for me. I always got support and sincere advice from my teachers and class-fellows.” He added, “ Here, I got chance to serve WIPRO as its Evangelist, to become co-chairman of Yi-CII (Young Indians- Confederation of Indian Industries) LPU Net, to anchor Zara clothes brand shows, and presently  I am also one of the lead star-cast of Bolly-wood movie ‘Salt & Light’ (under production).” He encouraged his juniors to dream big, “Our country has the best talent. The need of the hour is to inculcate among students an attitude of  innovation and creation. No doubt Bloomberg, Google and others are continuously helping us to make our lives better by employing and empowering students, but similar opportunities can be generated here in our country also. The only thing required is initiative.”
