Executive Development Program for Institute of Professional Banking on Powerful Sales Closing Techniques

Powerful Sales Closing Techniques, an Executive Development Program was organized by Corporate Pathshala on April 05, 2022, for staff members of the Institute of Professional Banking at LPU campus. The EDP was crafted on experiential learning after a thorough training need analysis.

After the auspicious lamp lighting, Dr. Manish Gupta, Registrar (Admin.), Lovely Professional University made the inaugural address in which he emphasized the importance of such EDPs in catalyzing the growth of an organization. He highlighted the need for LPU- Corporate Pathshala to serve the corporate sector through such initiatives and wished for an outcome-oriented experience for Team IPB.

Prof. (Dr.) Sunaina Ahuja, Dean  & Head – Human Resource Development Center welcomed the delegates and set the context of the EDP in terms of enhancement in knowledge and skills required to operate in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous corporate world. She clarified the Program Agenda and wished the participants a great experience on LPU campus.

Mr. Gursimran Singh Oberoi, Managing Director, Institute of Professional Banking, having 21 offices PAN India, in his Key Note address, shared his vision for IPB to train 1 Lakh aspiring bankers by 2035. He appreciated the gesture of LPU Corporate Pathshala in contributing to this vision.

Professor (Dr.) Sunaina Ahuja, Dean & Head – Human Resource Development Center, Mr. K.D.S Bedi, Director, Division of Admissions, Mr. Sarabjit Singh Kwatra, Deputy Dean and Mr.Ajay Kumar Sharma, Head – Deptt of Corporate Training, Human Resource Development Center were on the Resource Panel of the program.

Mr. K.D.S Bedi Director, Division of Admissions was the torchbearer of the EDP and elaborated on creating a Powerful Selling Mindset by reflecting on three important factors namely Opportunity, Ability and Mindset (OAM) required for success in a sales job. He shared his vast experience by citing anecdotes bringing out a Ten – Point agenda for sales professionals.  

Professor (Dr.) Sunaina Ahuja, Dean & Head – Human Resource Development Center and Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Head – Deptt of Corporate Training conducted an experiential learning session on Sustainable growth in sales: SERVQUAL. The participants conducted real-time gap analysis on SERVQUAL Model. The participants were exposed to the changing trends in banking sector through data analysis. An activity on SWOT analysis was the icing on the cake of the session. Through this analysis the audience came to know about the strengths, areas of improvement, opportunities and threats as per as their organization is concerned. The Resource Panel demonstrated how the success tools created by the organization can be the key factors for closing the deals and hence increase conversion rates.  

Mr. Sarabjit Singh Kwatra, Deputy Dean HRDC conducted an engaging team-building activity in which the participants encountered situations where team efforts not only help to provide solutions to problems but also result in elevating results. The key takeaways of the session were – how to craft a strategy that makes the difference, the need for a defined purpose and structure and the road ahead for creating a win-win situation for the organization and its stakeholders.

The program received active participation from staff members of Institute of Professional Banking. The participants were appreciative of the efforts of LPU- Corporate Pathshala and the Subject Matter Experts in providing a very relevant topic at the most opportune moment. “It was an amazing experience. I will definitely want to join again these kinds of trainings. Thanks to everyone,” said Khyati, an Admission Counsellor in the company and participant in the program. Certificates of participation were awarded to the participants in the valedictory session of the program.
