The training that they will make available to LPU students will contribute greatly to their industry-readiness.
Lovely Professional University has colaborated with Global IT giants HP and RedHat to open their ‘Centre of Excellence’ at LPU campus. These centres will provide professional preparation of students for top jobs of the world right in the campus. HP is a leader in the personal computing industry and a pioneer in Security, Networking, Data Centres and Cloud Management whereas RedHat is a global leader in open source software for enterprises, such as Fedora and JBoss. The training that they will make available to LPU students will contribute greatly to their industry-readiness.
A Centre of Excellence can be described as a department that, alongwith performing its own routine work, has an additional role of improving its own expertise and knowledge resources so that in turn it can help other activity centres throughout the organisation. A Centre of Excellence may comprise a functional or cross-functional team looking both inside and outside the organisation to capture new knowledge and practices. It may be set up as a physical or virtual team, but it will have a permanent status, rather than just a project status. The defining feature of a Centre of Excellence is knowledge management.
HP will provide all LPU B.Tech students training on Security, Networking, Data Centre, and Cloud Management. RedHat will train students in RedHat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Enterprise Middleware and other related software. The Centre of Excellence students will have wider experience, greater technical knowledge, some specialist tools and more advanced testing equipment.
