“Good teachers are the reason why ordinary students dream to do the extraordinary things”

Professors tend to present themselves in professional manners. A plaid shirt, perfectly tucked in to complement the crisp collars is what we often imagine when we think of these people with vast knowledge and spirit to teach the future generations. They open our eyes to the knowledge of the real world, nurture us with their experience of learning and no matter what, have our back in any situation being personal or professional.

We’ve all experienced them as teachers but has left us with a faint impression of their personality outside the university campus. This article will be putting the spotlight on a professor from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Being a student of Journalism myself, I’ll be acquainted with Asst. Prof. Vishwadeep Nirman, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Lovely Faculty of Business and Arts.

Born and brought up in Punjab, Ms. Nirman was a curious and inquisitive as a child. A current resident of Patiala, Ms. Nirman followed her natural traits as she leaned towards learning about the world, experiencing indulging cultures and also developed a passion for feature writing. When she stepped out of school, an exploration of the real world in terms of its current happenings and the media industry sparked her dreams. In 2015, she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (Hons.) from Punjabi University, Patiala after which she decided to pursue her educations further. She further pursued Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication along with developing a gracious attitude for teaching and writing. During her college education, she gained expertise in the field of Public Relations during her internship experience in Public Relations Department at Punjab Secretariat in Chandigarh.

An Interview with LPU Professor

Ms. Nirman’s journey was inspired by her thoughts and perception of the world outside, to make this world a better place through knowledge and education. Her most attractive trait was her ability to observe through a prism of thoughtfulness, writing through her experiences and revealing the hidden truths of life. Her writings have been published in magazines, college journals, and several websites as she continues to write alongside her teaching career.

“Teaching is something I’ve always wanted to do and pursuing my dream career couldn’t have been possible without the support of my family,” says Vishwadeep, who’s teaching Advertising, New Media, Radio Production and Current Affairs at the Department of Journalism.

“A Journalist is a multi-tasker. Even though he/she will have some specialized forte but at the end of the day if you leave it upon them, they can manage a story, show or publication solely.”

“This being my first teaching experience, I’ve learned a lot by actually working in an institution with diverse students and colleagues. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to spread knowledge if nothing to the students”

Personally, being her student myself, I’d like to add that she is not just a great teacher but also a great human being. Besides being a great support in college, she has been a great companion to learn the teachings of life.
