Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted the 4th Annual Celebrations of Antara Dance Studio (Jalandhar) at its Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium. Exploring the theme of “The Dream Catchers”, 100 artists, of all age groups, showcased enthralling performances for the onlookers, performers’ parents and special invitees present. The celebrations were declared open by LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, who commended the efforts made at the studio for nurturing young talent. Smt. Madhu Mittal of the Lovely Group was specially invited to grace the celebrative and award distribution ceremonies.
During the three-hour event, the studio’s students performed in various dance forms like the classical, semi- classical, folk, Bollywood, Latin, French, and English. Starting with the ‘Guru Vandana’, the students went on to perform the Krishna-stuti, Kathak Thumri, Salsa, Belly dancing, Malhari, and folk dances including Kashmiri, Punjabi, Haryanvi, Tamil, Marathi, and more. In between the dance performances, promising students, supporters and mentors were awarded.
During the award ceremony, the first trainer at the studio, Ms. Aditi Mittal and other trainers Anu Sharma, Deepak, Ameenah, LPU Ph.D student Ms. Shweta and Prabhjot Kaur were specially honoured. Laboni was declared the best passionate dancer, and Gloria Lokhande as the most versatile dancer. Dr. Sunidha, Pariyaz, Gurnoor, and Ms. Suman were awarded for best expressions & footwork, and similarly many others were recognized in different categories. Ms Bhakti Sanghavi, who had come from Bangalore to witness the annual celebrations, expressed that the show provided its students a great chance to chase their dreams in the realm of dance.
Antara – a unique studio in Jalandhar, conducts training classes in all the national and international dance forms all age groups. The Director of the studio, Mrs. Nidhi Mittal thanked LPU management for providing a great stage to the budding artists getting trained at the studio. Ms. Leena Munot, a motivational speaker from Bangalore, conducted the programme.
