During the 71st Independence Day celebrations, Lovely Professional University organized its 3rd UniFest at Shanti Devi Auditorium where talented performers mesmerized the audience. Over 200 performers, administrators, choreographers, composers, lyricists, judges and instrumentalists from 32 years’ Youth Festivals organized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) took over the LPU platform and presented a show worth everything.

Winners and achievers from LPU who were also winners at the AIU youth festivals were active participants at the event. They performed “Unifestians” as the crowd came together for a mass celebration. This cultural fest showcased theatrical presentations, rhythmic musicals, classical dances and singing performances, which represented the diverse culture of our country.

Dr. Vishwa Raman Nirmal, Asia Head of Pepsi (RJ Corporation), organized the program. Tamil Nadu’s prestigious folk dance master Ilangovan, winner of Tamil state’s most astounding art award, showcased the choreography of the dance troupe “Kavin Kalai kuzhu”. Dr. Santosh Nahar,  Assistant Director at All India Radio, exhibited heart-writhing tunes on violin. Indian Classical vocal presentation by globally known Pandit Devendra Verma and Bollywood music arranger Johny Foster Saheb introduced Gazhals. India’s Justin Bieber also known as Jai Prakash, Binny Dhillon, Sombil introduced old and new melodies while Dr. Hitendra Goel from discussed sonnets brimming with feelings.

The star entertainers from LPU including Girish Bhatt (who has worked in Bollywood movie ‘Dangal’), participants of reality TV shows Shilpa Surroch, Amrtyanshu, Paras Maan, Ajay Tiwari, and AIU youth festivals’ best champs Preeti, Prateek, Vishnu, and Piyush got loud cheers from the audience for their outstanding performances.

Dr. Sampson David, AIU Joint Secretary expressed gratitude toward every one of the members at the meet and said, ” True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist and this is why we all here as a big family. I would also like to appeal to you all to live a bit for others as well. Let us all take a pledge to make our country stronger in all forms; we will continue to work for the betterment of our country and countrymen-women.”

While this event was a whole bunch of entertainment, it was also an inspiration for all to come together and celebrate Independence Day at such a grand level. So, let’s keep going with the momentum of patriotism and pledge to make our country stronger in all spheres. Jai Hind!
