LPU Ranked Among Top Colleges in India by NIRF 2018

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released its 2018 ranking of higher education institutes and colleges across India in April 2018. In the Management rankings, Mittal School of Business has been ranked among top 40 B-Schools of India leaving behind venerable and reputed institutes like IIM Ranchi, Punjab University, Amity University and, Banaras Hindi University.

Mittal School of Business has secured the 2nd place among B-Schools in India in ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’ in the same NIRF Ranking.

In another proud achievement, LPU School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has ranked among top 30 Pharmacy Colleges in India.

LPU ranked among Top Colleges by NIRF 2018

‘NIRF-2018’ is the third edition by MHRD, Government of India, in which a total of 2,809 institutions participated for various rankings. Out of a total of 487 institutions participating in the management category, MHRD has announced the list of top 50 institutions in India. The criteria adopted for finalizing the performance of various institutions is based on five parameters. These are Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and, Perception.

Congratulating all the listed top institutions, Hon’ble Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar, mentioned: “NIRF is the most authenticated and free of any bias ranking system available in India. Though it is the 3rd edition but not even a single accusation has been raised against the NIRF.” The Minister also held that a good ranking by NIRF is clear indication of the quality of the institution. Mr Javadekar also impressed upon especially the importance of ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’ in the functioning of an institution.

Feeling immensely happy on LPU being ranked among the top institutions in the prestigious Ministry of HRD’s NIRF ranking, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal observed, “Such prestigious rankings encourage us all at LPU to keep on working hard, unflinchingly. On seeing our two departments among the top in India, I feel extremely proud of both my students and staff members.”

Previously, LPU has been ranked as the best private university by ASSOCHAM in 2017. It has also been placed at the second position by HackerEarth in the race of “Most technologically aware crowd” in 2017.
