Lovely Professional University and Shanghai Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry of China have signed an MoU at our campus for collaboration in academic and research-related activities. The scope of this important collaborative includes the development of joint research projects and to avail funding; exchange of academic information, students, faculty; and, organization/participation in joint seminars, conferences, workshops etc.

For this, four-member Chinese delegation reached LPU under the leadership of President WEI Hua of SHAFC. President Hua on the behalf of SHAFC and from LPU Registrar Dr Monica Gulati and Associate Director Division of International Affairs Mr Aman Mittal signed the MoU between the two institutions.

On this signing occasion, Director at the Office of International Cooperation & Exchanges FEI Guoqiang, Director of Academic Office Wang Tongguang, Associate Professor Geng Yanxia from (SHAFC) and LPU Director General (Operations) Subhashish Mazumdar were also present.

In addition, the development of articulations for twinning/joint programmes, and allowing students to undertake part of the programme/course of study at each institution will also be there. These courses/programmes, usually two to four weeks in duration, will facilitate visits by students and faculty to learn about the business environment and culture in the host country. In addition to various topics on business operations and culture, the course would include meetings with business executives and visits to various industrial and business establishments.

Illustrative, Shanghai Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry ‘SHAFC’ is the only higher vocational college in Shanghai which has distinct features in modern urban agriculture. It has a total area of 1452 acres. The college has constructed six major groups with distinct agricultural features. Agriculture-related majors and its students both account for more than 80% now, providing students with three-year vocational skills learning.
