Kritika Gupta, a student of MSc Nutrition & Dietetics at LPU has been selected for AcSIR-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Summer Training Program 2018. She will be spending the coming summer months in CSIR Lab: CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, Karnataka.
Summer Training Program at AcSIR provides an opportunity to spend one of your summers working at premier research Laboratories of CSIR with some of the leading scientists in India, in an environment which promotes trans-disciplinary research. The program is supported/ funded by AcSIR through its AcSIR-Kalam Fellowship which is 20,000 INR per student and an additional travel allowance. Kritika is grateful to Dr Ramesh Kumar Sadawarti, HOS, School of Agriculture, Er Sawinder Kaur, HOD Department of Food Technology & Nutrition and Dr Ashwani Kumar, Assistant Professor in the same department.
During this program, Kritika will work with noted scientist Dr M.N. Sachindra under her proposed research project.
Selection to this program is highly competitive whereby 20 students of masters first year are selected all over India. Earlier in May, AcSIR had released a list of 97 shortlisted candidates out of nearly 6000 candidates who had applied for the program. The shortlisted candidates went through a Skype interview for the final selection.
