Thousands of students from different parts of the country and the world have sought admissions with Lovely Professional University for the new academic session 2017-18. In order to facilitate the freshmen in commencing their journey, LPU has devised a special 13-Day Induction Programme. During the induction, the students would be briefed about the university system, policies, support mechanism and multi-ethnic campus life. On the lines of the American system of Induction, students are encouraged to participate in games, fun activities, campus rounds and city tours. Many other ice-breaking sessions have also been chalked out to energize new students and gear up for an exciting session ahead of them. Already commenced, the induction program is to continue up till 8th August 2017.
Mrs. Rashmi Mitttal, Pro Chancellor, LPU welcomed and motivated all the freshmen inducing a lot of fervor with her note. She goes on to say,
“I am happy to see a new sea of students at the campus and welcome them all to start their new academic journey for the awaiting bright tomorrow. I encourage them all to get acquainted with university’s culture of diversity. All of them should participate in maximum activities and derive the utmost from all that is afforded to them for their holistic development as a student. I am certain that new students will enjoy each day of their student life here at LPU.”
At LPU, students are encouraged to keep working for their placements right from day one. Top officials from the industry and highly placed officers from the Government and Private sector have been invited to interact with the freshmen and inculcate a broader vision in their career plan. As the first day of interaction was sorted out for Pharmacy and Architecture students, top hats from the healthcare and the architecture sector who were invited, gave meaningful insights to the new joining batch. Dr. Ajit Sood, Senior Gastroenterologist, HoD, Department of Gastroenterology, Dayanand Hospital and Medical College, Ludhiana inspired the students to tackle and kill ailments like Hepatitis B in detail.
The induction program is being appreciated by one and all alike. Students, as well as their parents, hailing from distant states and countries, are appreciating this initiative by the university.
Mr. Venkatarayudu from Nizamabad (Telangana), father of new students of CSE Programme Kushal and Kanishka, says,
“We are very happy to see the nicest programs chalked out for new students at LPU. Both of my wards are also very happy on commencing their higher academic journey at LPU. Initially, we were worried about their settlement in a far off institution in another state, but now we have ourselves seen that LPU environment and functioning is very comforting for new students.”
