In this piece, I’ll be talking about a few pieces that can be used for all the three jackets that I discussed in my last.
Since we have talked about types of jackets in the previous write up – Let’s talk about the other pieces we need to create different looks. My personal mantra when it comes to clothes is “I should be able to use it for multiple occasions”, after all, as young individuals, money is something we need to spend sensibly. My advice would be don’t waste too much money on pants or shirts; having said that, I wouldn’t mind spending to a certain extent on shoes and jackets, provided it’s within my means.
This winter I want you to embrace minimalism, or at least have a small part of it in your wardrobe. It not only suits everyone, but it also looks very effortless. The colour palates should be grey, brown, navy, cream, white etc. If you stick to these palates I can assure, you will never be in a dilemma about what to wear (Let’s be honest, we all have those moments).
I’ll be talking about a few pieces that can be used for all the three jackets – starting from shirts to shoes.
-
Sweaters and Turtle neck
Tip – Stick to basic plain sweaters, be it a cardigan or basic sweater. Stay away from patterns or prints because if you are on the heavier side you’ll end up looking bulky and if you are skinny you lose yourself in the sweater. Talking about the turtle neck – it not only compensates the lack of a muffler if you are not keen on wearing one but it also gives a very sincere look (contrary to our reputation of “flippant teens” ). My suggestion would be to stick to navy, grey, or black.
-
Shirts
You should invest in a basic white and checked shirt -trust me, this will cover all your clothing needs, be it formal or casual wear. If you are on the heavier side, stick to small check patterns. But for other body types, a normal check should suffice, or even small checks for that matter. Tip – Stick to dark checks for multiple occasion use.
-
T-Shirts
I know I have talked about plain t-shirts in almost all my write-ups and I will say it again – go grab basic plain t-shirts. They are not only inexpensive but also very effortless and suit everyone. Tip – White suits everyone.
-
Pants
Whichever shade of pants you might have been wearing, this winter, I suggest you to add grey cotton chinos or smart pants and basic dark navy jeans to your wardrobe. These shades are very easy to carry off and for sure make one look smart. Aesthetically, they are perfect for winter – Not too dark, yet not too flamboyant either.
-
Shoe
In addition to the shoes which you already have, investing in a good pair of Chelsea boots will take your winter outfit game to the next level. This shoe is so versatile that it can be used for any occassion, provided you stick to the guide I have suggested for other apparel, but if you love experimenting – go ahead please. Stick to tan or black (personally I prefer black). The reference below is a perfect shape for any body type.
Now that we are familiar with all the what our winter wardrobe should comprise, the next write up will be focused on teaming these pieces to create different looks for different occasions. Stay tuned!!
