Earlier this month, Dr. Sandeep Pathak, Ph.D. from Cambridge University, who happens to be the principal tactician at the bottom of the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) legendary win, a preponderance of 78% at the Punjab State Legislative Assembly elections orchestrated across 23 districts to elect the 117 members, laid the foundations for AAP phenomenal ascendancy in Punjab. Following polls, AAP five picks for Rajya Sabha include Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor to India’s greatest single-campus private varsity namely, the Lovely Professional University; Mr. Sanjeev Arora, Ludhiana-based industrialist; Mr. Harbhajan Singh, former cricketer; Mr. Raghav Chadha, Delhi MLA; Dr. Sandeep Pathak, a senior party member.

Back in 1961, Late Sh. Baldev Raj Mittal embarked upon the business of making sweets with a princely loan of Rs. 500, namely the Lovely Sweets in a 10×10 shop at Jalandhar Cantonment crafting and selling mouth-watering laddus at competitive pricing, which became an instant sensation, trailing which came immense glory, and in 86 they expanded with another lovely shop fondly calling it “sweet showrooms,” it became a brand that every local cherished; in 1991, our now Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal, the younger son, worked at the shop during the daytime and attending lectures for his Bachelor’s in Law in the evenings, then ventured into the automobile dealership business, back then Bajaj dominated the market and for barbaric reasons they wouldn’t offer dealerships to “halwais,” but somehow our now Chancellor got the dealership, which gave birth to the gene of educating people, which till date is still a not-for-profit enterprise. In 2001, they established the Lovely College, which grew at a pace no one could have anticipated & in an effort to update the curriculum; in 2005, they ended up with one of India’s first private universities, the Lovely Professional University. In 2022, the Lovely group now has an annual turnover of more than 800 crores, a classic rags to riches story.

With some people pulling the strings of the Indian educational system, the country’s desperate for academicians like Mr. Ashok Mittal, capable of revolutionizing the educational sector; his own Lovely Professional University, spans over 600 acres of land, serves world-class education to more than 30,000 students at affordable costs and facilitates employment to more than 3,000 faculty & staff members.

The elections will be held across six states on the 31st of March 2022 to fill out 13 Rajya Sabha seats; the counting of votes will be completed on the same day, and the elections will be completed before the 2nd of April 2022. The entire Lovely Professional University family wishes prosperity and a generous win to Mr. Ashok Mittal, Chancellor to India’s largest single-campus private university.
