School of Liberal & Creative Arts of Lovely Professional University (LPU) has lifted the Overall Championship trophy of annual 12th Cultural Fest ‘One India-2024’ for representing Tamil Nadu state. Winning teams including first and second runners-up have also won cash prize-money of Rs 1,25,000/= (Rupees One Lakh & Twenty Five Thousand). Occasion was the valedictory ceremony of two-day annual cultural fest which aimed ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’, for which Indian government’s roadmap is to make India a completely developed nation right up to 100 years after independence.
The Schools of Computer Science & Engineering and Architecture & Design were declared first runners-up for representing the states of Mizoram and West Bengal respectively. Schools of Education; Agriculture; and, CSE got declared 2nd runners-up for signifying Uttarakhand, Assam & Uttar Pradesh respectively. Three consolation prizes were shared by the Mittal School of Business, Computer Science; and, Computer Applications for representing Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.
Congratulating the winners and encouraging all other participants, Founder Chancellor of LPU & Rajya Sabha Member Hon’ble Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal handed over the trophies and mementoes to the winning teams and their mentors. Dr Mittal invoked all at the fest to always stand for the cause of the nation in one or the other form. One should be devoted to the land where he/she is born by sharing the commendable traits and chivalry earned. Dr Mittal also encouraged them to always stand united for the ultimate betterment of the global society. On this occasion, Pro-Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal was also accompanying him.
The two-day event was thoroughly celebrative and informative with massive presentations made by 4000+ participating LPU students, hailing from all Indian states & union territories. They collaborated with one another to learn and imbibe the goodness of other cultures as well. Even international students of 40+ countries worked with their Indian counterparts to prove the fest grand in form and aim. It indeed witnessed a harmonious amalgamation of cultures, traditions, perspectives, and the true spirit of a united India.
On this occasion, an exclusive fashion show was also organized on the fest’s theme- “Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity”. Here, Show- Stopper was an LPU alumna Kanishka Goyal, crowned as Dazzle Mrs India World 2022. The ‘Show’ taught students to always show up as an ‘inclusive’ leader and to learn the art of thinking independently together. An ‘Art Exhibition-Abhivykati’ was also organized where different departments presented exclusive creations of their students.
Thus, the conclusive occasion vouchsafed excellent patriotic showcasing amid continuous rhyming performances of all the states of India. Different Schools of the university had represented different states of India separately, and their students worked together to bring out the great aspects of the individual states for 28,000 other on-looking students. The day underlined India’s rich cultural heritage, where diversification is the identity of the country.
Participating students of diverse professional programmes from across India had represented different states and regions of the country. They showcased vibrancy of Indian culture, traditions, rituals & heritage through various activities, featuring all Indian states and regions. Carrying the theme of “Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity”, they put forth splendid Indian philosophy that binds the entire nation together.
