What to Do This New Year Except the Overrated New Year’s Eve Party?

The excitement of welcoming a new year has already taken over us completely. But if you are the “I don’t party!” kind of person, you may not be so excited about a New Year Eve’s party. There is absolutely nothing cool about these parties, anyway. The music is so loud that no one can hear each other. There is so much crowd, and I really don’t understand the whole craze for the clumsy scene that most of these offer.

Although, don’t get me wrong! I do love having fun, but it gets a bit intimidating around the New Year’s Eve! Don’t you agree? The constant push to make small talk with friends of friends or a bunch of strangers, whirling to the loud music, kind of beats the whole occasion. No one seems to have time for a meaningful conversation with their friends and loved ones.

I yearn for time that enlivens me and makes me feel free. I feel at ease when I am alone. Hence, this year I have decided to take my cravings a step ahead. I am making a list of things I’d rather do on this New Year, than some annoying, run of the mill party.

It may sound conventional, but yes, breakfast seems to me like a luxury now. Living a hectic lifestyle, having to reach college early morning at 8’O clock, I barely remember a time when I actually savoured a proper breakfast in the morning. So yes, I intend to start the New Year by keeping my stomach happy, and enjoy a nice tasty breakfast. Ahh, a plate of spicy exotic chole bature and crispy jalebis.

It will be literal to say that 2016 was a year when I spent a lot, like a lot. While I kept piling to my heart’s content, I did not find enough time to clean up those piles. So, after getting charged with breakfast, I am going to put my energy into thorough cleaning. I vow to clean – my bathroom, my bedroom and my almirah. I am going to get rid of all the mess and get ready to face 2017 with spotless clean space.

And once I am done cleaning my space, I intend to pamper myself profoundly. A little narcissism doesn’t hurt! I will indulge in some mani-pedi. Maybe even some holiday themed nail art. Another thing that I would want to execute is – designing my dream-board, pointing out all my goals and dreams for 2017 and pinning them on a board.

Being an introvert does not mean I don’t like meeting people. I like meeting my family and friends in close gatherings like a quiet bonfire. To add to the eperience, I would add some pretty decoration and some tasty home-cooked food.

And I am going to end my day by watching a couple of good movies. Nothing feels better than cuddling up in a cosy blanket and falling asleep with the characters in the movies, does it?

So for all you like-minded people, here were a few ideas to kick-start your new year. Happy 2017!!
