Workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis (AMOS and Smart-PLS) with 56 participants from diverse disciplines consisting of Faculty, Researchers and Research Scholars culminated after a week of invaluable input on diverse range of topics. Dr. Rajesh Verma, Workshop Advisor, Senior Dean and Head, Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University congratulated the participants on achieving this milestone and exhorted them to conduct, meaningful research that contributes to the community and environment. He advised the participants to widen the bandwidth of their thought horizon along with the depth that is essential. He remarked that the need of the moment was interdisciplinary and cross domain research and that the only way to achieve it is through collaborative initiatives. He lauded the hosting of the event and the round the clock service by the Organizing Committee, conduct by the subject matter experts and the receptiveness of the participants.

Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor and Dean and Convener said that this course was crafted to empower the researchers and build capacity to build more accurate attitudinal and behavioural models that present complicated interactions than typical multivariate statistical approaches. The course outcomes focused on different Business Research Methods using two software, AMOS and Smart-PLS. The course also covered the essential principles behind building questionnaires, theory development and building conceptual model. A significant amount of time was spent on technique of structural equation modelling. In this workshop, covariance and variance based SEM was explained by providing hands on to the participants. Participants by going through this course got and access to in-depth insights pertaining to SEM which aided in advancement of research and ideas.

The subject matter experts, Dr Pawan Kumar Professor, Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University, Dr Rishi Raj Sharma, Professor and Dean, GNDU Regional Campus – Gurdaspur, Dr Gursimranjit Singh, Assistant Professor and Mr. Amanjot Singh Syan, Assistant Professor,  Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University creating an engaging and exploratory learning environment using practice data sets for hands-on experience. The outcome was a gamut of pertinent knowledge, skills and information covering the Research Journey right from the first step, delivered in a mode of Exploration, Experience and Experiment.

The Workshop Advisor, Dr. Rajesh Verma, Conveners, Dr. Sunaina Ahuja, Professor & Dean, Head Human Resource Development Center, Dr. Babli Dhiman, Professor, Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University and  Mr. Sarabjit Singh Kwatra, Deputy Dean, HRDC, Dr. Gursimranjit Singh, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Amanjot Singh Syan, Assistant Professor Mittal School of Business, Lovely Professional University were appreciated for a very well crafted short term course.

A landmark event hosted with meticulous planning, executed with precision finesse, full of research insights, techniques and skills. Hailed by one and all as the most wonderful experience ever. The course ended on a high note with the participants thanked for the access to the resource repository and thanking the resource panel, Course Mentors and also the efforts of the Organizing Committee.

Testimonials:

Nidhi Kumara: It was a very practical and informative workshop
It helped me to develop an understanding of SEM and to build and validate models by using Smart PLS and AMOS, These software will help me to analyze the data more effectively

Rimzim Tyagi: I got to know so much about research methodology along with the software

Debashis Roy: Knew Multifactorial analysis, insight on SEM modeling and its usefulness in behavioral biology and ecology.

Abid Rasool: Overall the training suggestion was quite beneficial and the resource person was highly knowledgeable in their particular fields’. My humble suggestion regarding the training session would be to improve the user interface design of the software as there is less visibility.
