24-hour long Hackathon by SAP UA team on SAP Tools successfully came to an end with team Pepsi and team Data Infinite emerging as winners and runner ups respectively. The common aspect that both the teams feel had set them apart from the rest of their competitors was their ability to come up with unique models to solve real-life problems with their data.
The hackathon did not just turn out to be an event of competing but also learning experience as Shubham Agrawal from team Data Infinite shares that it was due to the encouragement and combined efforts of his teammates he could contribute to the project analytics than giving up. His other two equally worthy teammates Ramdyal Singh and Poojari Anil believed in teamwork and persistence when they realized that they need to redo their project from scratch midway into the competition and believe, it was their determination and hard work that yielded them the successful result of winning 2nd place despite obstacles.
The winning team Pepsi, on the other hand, had the overwhelming odds of competing against experienced senior students but decided to give their best efforts to their data set and came out with a meaningful project of “Best and Worst timings to book an airline ticket”. Mouna Sri from team shares that it was her second hackathon and her experience has made her excited for upcoming hackathons. While her teammate Aniruddha Pandey smiled that though the event was 24-hour long, it was worth it and winning was the icing on the cake.
On the note of winning, their last but definitely not the least teammate Yash Pathak concludes that the event has made him more aware about the technologies used and he would be much better prepared for upcoming ones. He also added that interested students should not hesitate to participate just because they are not aware of the tech used because only if they take part will they learn and present better results.
Apart from the cash prize of Rs. 5000, both the selected teams were directly interviewed by Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group (BSHG) for an internship opportunity with them. We congratulate the teams on their well-deserved success. Kudos to you all!
