Many of us perk up when we hear the word chocolate. The heavenly creation is no wonder almost everyone’s favorite. The cocoa wonder takes you on a sweet ride of comfort no matter how bothered you are. Ever wondered why? Well here are four popular reasons why people love it so much.

  1. Non-Judgmental – You will never find it judgmental. No matter how bad things are or what mistake you have done or no matter how badly someone has hurt you.
  2. Bitter-Sweet – Some like the milky one, some dark, some normal cocoa but no matter what kind it is, you always find yourself eating one of your taste. As it takes you on a bittersweet journey of your precious memories bad or good.
  3. Melts you inside out – They melt you inside out, like you can apologize and make up for what went wrong. It can cheer up moods. Perfect for gifting too to make someone forgive you.
  4. After cry comfort – Often, many have said that eating chocolate brings them comfort after they have cried. Well, you can try it too next time things go downhill and you want to cry.

Scientific fact though is:

The experience of eating chocolate results in feel-good neurotransmitters (mainly dopamine) being released in particular brain regions (frontal lobe, hippocampus and hypothalamus—definitions a bit later). Dopamine is released when you experience anything that you enjoy—sex, laughing or watching your favorite Olympian claim the gold. This reward circuit is partially hard-wired by genetics, but it learns, changes and responds to your specific preferences based on your life experiences.
