LPU witnessed a mammoth gathering at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis during the second day of the mega fest 10th ONE WORLD 2019 on 16th November 2019. The students and faculty were all ears to the gigs of the students. While this fest is all about showcasing the diversity of the world, the students proved once again that the diverse talent they possess was no less than stupendous.
The day began with each country setting up their stalls from the day before to showcase unique inventions from their countries as this year, the theme was ‘Inventions and Innovations: Idea That Made the Difference’.
Honourable Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal visited each stall and interacted with the students about the various inventions set up inside the stalls of each country.
Students from Cameroon, Mauritius, Germany, China, and Bangladesh sang songs in their native languages to which the audience listening to them was spellbound.
An art exhibition was set up which had LPU’s students’ paintings up for sale. Anyone who takes a look at them wouldn’t believe that people so young had drawn and painted something that beautiful. The students were in awe of the talent that they possessed.
After the musical performances, LPU’s own bands ‘Raabta’ and ‘Torque Division’ performed on stage. ‘Raabta’ set the stage on fire with their rock songs while ‘Torque Division’ started with a slow song followed by fast beat songs to which the students sang their hearts out.
LPU alumnus Mr. Ritesh Watts launched his book ‘The Doer Mindset’ right here at LPU. The book was launched by Honourable Pro Chancellor Madam Rashmi Mittal along with Mr. Ritesh’s parents and brother. This shows how LPU takes pride in its alumnus and is always close to the hearts of its students.
In the evening, the crowd cheered on as students from Tibet, Zambia, Bali, Bangladesh, UAE, China, Guinea, Somalia, and Sri Lanka danced to their native songs. No country’s dance would ever be comparable to another as each of their performances picked up the same amount of traction.
All of these performances showcased not only inventions of various countries but the diverse culture of LPU students, faculty and their dedication to make this event a one to cherish.
