LPU has been honoured with ‘National Education Excellence Award 2018’ for being declared as “India’s Best University in Open, Distance and Online Learning”. For this honour, the award ceremony was organized by prestigious ‘Career Connect’ in New Delhi. The coveted honour was bestowed by the editor, Ms Smiti Suri. On the behalf of LPU, the said award was received by LPU Deputy Director Manish Kumar. The event was held to acknowledge and felicitate excellence in the education sector.
Congratulating all at the helm of affairs of LPU Distance Education, for being awarded nationally, Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal said, “The Distance Education mode at LPU is a flexible and dependable system taking higher education to the very door step of each section of the society. It is all through the help of student centric and affordable learning approach.” Adding, Mr Mittal shared, “In fact, LPU distance education programmes are very popular among students as we are providing these students all facilities in consonance with the regular students at LPU. They are proving their excellence not only in academics, research, placements, entrepreneurship and, extra-curricular activities but other international fields including sports also.”
Proving their mettle, LPU distance education students are winning many medals at national and international events. It is anticipated that such brilliant students will glorify India, their alma-mater and themselves by further winning many other national and international accolades, awards and, even Olympic medals.
In fact, LPU distance education programmes are considered number one in the entire north region. This is based on the research and assessment done on various parameters including accreditation, image, study material, placements and responsiveness. Presently, LPU offers various distance education programmes of Masters, Bachelors, Post Graduate Diploma, and Diploma level in the disciplines of management, computer applications, information technology, commerce, arts, library and information sciences. For this, LPU adopts modern and technology driven blended system of delivery.
