The 10th chapter of One India, One World at Lovely Professional University started with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Odisha was represented by Mittal School Of Business. They showcased the culture, trade, commerce, and industries of Odisha. The prime attraction was their entrance as it was very much similar to the “Singha Dwar” (Lion’s Gate) Of Jagannath Temple at Puri. They portrayed the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, And Subhadra through three chariots. The economic power was presented through Bauxite Mines, Vedanta Aluminum Industry, Paradip Seaport and Steel Plants. The tourism industry was demonstrated by Chillika Lake, Udaygiri And Khandagiri Caves.
The state of Assam was represented by the Department of Physical Education and they portrayed it with glory. The economy of Assam is largely agriculture-based with 69% of the population engaged in it. Assam is the largest economy in the whole of Northeast. Owing to its proximity to the rest of the country and availability of quality infrastructure, the state offers a favourable environment for the industry. They showcased cottage industry, Digboi oil refinery, the variety of high-quality tea including green tea, black tea and white tea. The stall also exhibited three different silk – Muga, Eri, Paat. It was decorated with local Assamese towel, hats, paintings which further showcased Kaziranga National Park, Bihu dance and Kamakhya temple.
Running from the tea-draped Himalayan foothills to the steamy mangroves of the Bay of Bengal, West Bengal presents a remarkable picture to the world. This same essence was carried by the Department of Social Sciences here at One India One World fest in LPU. They presented the tea gardens of Darjeeling, floating market and Victoria Memorial of Kolkata, the Taant saree of Bengal, the iconic Yellow Taxi, coal fields Of Ranigunj, wedding Palki, steel plants of Durgapur, Hazarduari of Murshidabad, ports of Haldia. On the tourism front, they showcased the Bengal village tourism, Sundarbans, Royal Bengal Tiger, film city, and the world famous Howrah Bridge. They were able to fit these renowned things in the map of Bengal too.
