Student Organisation Griffin hosted their second Instagram live session on the Instagram handle of Division of Student Welfare with the popular singer and composer, Subhadeep Das Chowdhury. Subhadeep Das Chowdhury is a versatile singer from Kolkata. He has been learning Hindustani classical music for the last 15 years. Besides this, he also holds the command in several other genres like Bollywood, Sufi, Ghazal, Thumri, Dadra, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, etc.
Subhadeep has also been a part of Indian Idol 11 as a top 11 finalist. Adding to that, he has also been a silver-medallist in Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, 2018. He is also titled Classical Voice of India, 2018 and Classical Voice of Kolkata, 2017. He has a profound teaching experience from the last 6 years and is currently running his own Online Music Academy called Surangan Music Academy with more than 100 students.
The live session started with Subhadeep applauding his audience whom he loves to call his well-wishers. When asked about how his journey started, he beautifully graces it as blessings from his elders. He adds how Indian Idol has completely changed his life. Indian Idol provided singers and talents like Subhadeep a stage on which they can show the world their skills. It just makes them stand out from the crowd. He shares his journey of how he wasn’t selected in his first attempt but that lead him to seriously work hard and then return to the same stage with all the power.
Subhadeep also shared his experience from the hustling days and truly believes when one goes through tough times and hard situations, it is only then that he flourishes with great skills and is blessed with success.
During the second half of the session, overwhelmed by the comments from the students, Subhadeep took us on a soulful journey of his songs. He sang songs likes, Jaane de, Saiyaan and Mitwa to name a few. The audience was absolutely spellbound by the songs.
