Student organization Society for management learning under the aegis of the Student Welfare Wing, LPU, organized a Webinar on- The XR Startup Program, a program to discover, nurture, and accelerate XR Technology startups across India. The guest for this webinar was Mr. Anubhav Sen (Project Office, FITT – IIT Delhi) & Mr. Dewansh Poddar (Project Lead, FITT-IIT Delhi), Mr.Rohit Vij (Head Department of Start-up and Assistant Professor), Dr. Prateek Agrawal (COS of School of Computer Science and Engineering), Mr. Rishi Desai (Marketing & Growth- Ajna Lens).
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, Meta and MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH), and dignitaries from Lovely Professional University, spoke about the XR Start-up Program that FITT is implementing in partnership with Meta and MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH). The initiative seeks to hasten and support the growth of Extended Reality (XR) technology in India.
“Why does India need startups?”, was Mr. Anubhav Sen’s opening question for the webinar. Several topics, including utilizing India’s intellectual capital, fostering innovation, and moving capital investments, were covered in this context.
On moving forward with the subject of AR, VR, and technology, Mr. Dewansh Poddar stated, “We are trying to bring the same technology to India that was used in the movie Ironman.” He also shared with students the “golden rules” that a business should adhere to engage its customers and improve its products and services.
The talk session was followed by a Q&A. Responding to one of the student’s queries, “How can we, as a manufacturer, get things to the consumer more economically,” the panel demonstrated how the process of V.R., or Visual Reality, will soon be executed by big brands like Myntra for a smoother customer experience.
The guests also applauded LPU for offering numerous opportunities for students to launch new businesses with outstanding facilities and faculty guidance.
