Lovely Professional University MBA student Mohammed Yasir Ali won the 2nd position and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 at the ICICI Stock Mind competition conducted across the country. He outdid students from IIMs (Shillong & Raipur) and 1.8 lakh others from over 58o colleges across India at ICICI’s unique virtual stock market competition, designed to check students’ knowledge of the stock market by letting them play with using virtual money. A student from Delhi School of Economics won the first prize and one from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi bagged the third.
Yasir Ali, who hails from a small village Goushihata in Mirganj of Siwan (Bihar), is jubilant over his win. “Coming thousands of miles away from my home to LPU has proved out to be a great decision. The way my teachers at LPU developed and sharpened my skills is highly appreciable. Ever motivating, they encouraged me to participate in the event and I, a simple villager, outdid students from some of the best institutions in the country. I am proud to share that this was only be possible through the kind of education I got at LPU. Now I am confident enough to makea career in the equity market as well. I am thankful to all my mentors at LPU who trained me well to excel in this highly competitive world.”
