What makes a Smartphone ‘smart’? The answer to this lies in the four letters APPS

Human race with its ever more sophisticated needs has been bombarding itself with technological innovations. The ‘smart phone’ is definitely a tech wonder that falls under this head. From assisting you in shopping, helping you make video calls, performing searches and researches, keeping you socially connected, to even taking care of your health, it works really hard for you.

But what makes a Smartphone ‘smart’? The answer to this lies in the four letters APPS. That is short for ‘Applications’ –  like Flipkart, Myntra, and Snapdeal that let you shop from your couch or Practo, health-o-meter, and mi –fit that  keep a close check on your health, not to forhet Skype, Facebook, and Snapchat that enable you to stay connected and socially active.

In recent times the Government of India has also hopped on to the app bandwagon, with the Central Board of Secondary Education providing students with an “e” version of NCERT books and study material. Adding to this, the Government of India has also introduced applications like MYGOV which makes available a platform where every Indian, local or overseas, can put forward his opinions and views to the current government.

An app developer working at an MNC stated that “many small business houses have also shown keen interest in making a incorporating this latest smart idea into their daily running. Many engineers and engineering students are taking up specialized courses in app development. LPU too has introduced a course for the same this year, open to its engineering students.
