Boccia is one of only two Paralympic sports that do not have an Olympic counterpart (goalball being the other) and is governed by the Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed).

It was practiced for many years as a leisure activity until it was introduced at the New York 1984 Paralympic Games, as a competitive sport.

Last month a Boccia Selections Camp for the State Team was held at LPU. Four LPU students, Gajendra Negi, Eishaan Agarwaal, Raman Deep, and Pawan Kumar were shortlisted.

This is indeed a great achievement and opportunity for our players. If they work hard and perform well, they can be inducted into the Nation Team, which will compete in the next Paralympics.
