“..there is no elevator to success, there are only stairs.” – DGP Arora

Lovely Professional University organized its 7th ‘University Honour Ceremony’ today, to honour 2000 of its meritorious and talented pupils. Chief guest, Director General of Police, Government of Punjab, awarded the prize money of Rs. 20 lakh along with University Rolls of Honou to illustrious students. Parents of the students from different states of India and other countries too witnessed the honouring ceremony of their wards. The ceremony is held annually to recognize students’ achievements in the fields of research, academics, sports, placements, cultural activities & community services.

Lovely Group Chairman Mr. Ramesh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal and Pro Chancellor Mrs. Rashmi Mittal welcomed the chief guest and asked DGP Arora to address the gathering. The DGP advised students,” In order to succees, work hard and never stray from the law. This is the beginning of a new life for you and I have just one piece of advice – there is no elevator to success, there are only stairs. The climb will mean hard work, stumbles, hurt and frustration, but only those who never give up know that the view from the top is truly worth the climb.” He told the students that he lived to serve others. He even shared his email address with the students and encouraged them to get in touch with him should they ever need help or guidance.

Congratulating students & their parents, Chancellor Mr. Mittal said: “Every year our students earn new laurels for the university. This year the number of such achievers has risen to 2000. It is usually said that sports and cultural activities’ students do not prove good in academics. LPU students have broken this myth by excelling in such fields while stil getting a 9+ CGPA. Moreover most of them belong to hard professional programs like engineering, pharmacy, and biosciences rather than performing or fine arts. At times an LPU student can be a perfect classical dancer, athlete, researcher, innovator all in one. At LPU students are not only imparted world class education but are also shaped into holistic human beings.”

One of the awarded students Shaista Afzal Majeedi (B.Sc Economics), who has a CGPA of 10 shared, “LPU has transformed me into a hard working scholar.” Similarly, Nidhi Nayan, who participated in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi this year under community services, very humbly said that whatever she is today is only due to the teachings received at the university. Researcher Kunal Adhikari, a talented Odissi dancer also shared that his parents’ decision to get him enrolled at LPU has proved a great decision.
