Saluting the fearless martyrs and opportunity warriors of the country, festivities of 73rd Independence Day were seen at Lovely Professional University with incredible intensity. On this event, students from 28 states of India and 70+ nations displayed the legacy of rich assorted variety at LPU.
Adding to this patriotic event, the student organisation “Sankalp Enviro “in association with another student organisation “Orators” organised an event “Jashn-e-Azadi” (Ek Sankalp Desh k Naam). During this event, various students from different streams took part in a variety of competitions like dancing, singing, slogan writing, and poetry. Student organisation Orators organised a marathon “Run for freedom”. More than 700 students along with faculty took part in this marathon.
The celebrations and events were inaugurated by LPU Director General Er HR Singla. The inauguration ceremony was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony. The NCC Cadets of LPU demonstrated the value of discipline and teamwork through their march past at the event. Freshers this year also took part in various competitions and events with memorizing performance.
The Independence Day celebration ended with Prize Distribution to marathon winners and an address by LPU Director General Er HR Singla, who appealed “Let us all take a pledge to make our country rich in every field”. He motivated the students to serve their country in any manner to make the countrymen proud to feel the versatility of India.
