How many phone numbers do you remember? 5, 10, 15? Surely no more than 50, if you really have a head for that sort of a thing. Chances are your parents remember more phone numbers than you, seeing as we are all a mentally lazy, gadget dependent generation. Here’s a shining example of what a human mind is capable of.

A young girl prodigy from Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh has created a new world record by memorizing 500 random numbers within a time period of 8 minutes 33 seconds.

Prerna Sharma, a 19 year old teenager also famous as ‘The Memory Girl’, has become the first girl from India to get her name enrolled in the Guinness Book of World Records by beating Lance Tschirhart of the United States of America who held the record of 300 words. She achieved this feat after appearing for a test in GLA University on 18 January 2017.

Prerna has already shown the world what she is as she already has her name in Limca Book of Records, the Asia and India Book of Records. She has a photographic memory for numbers and has the ability to memorize hundreds of numbers in a matter of seconds and reproduce them exactly.

Prerna, who is studying Bachelors of Science at BSA College, Mathura  wants to become an IAS officer thanks her mother for identifying her talent and helping her in moving forward.

The child prodigy has been awarded the Laxmi Bai award for her efforts and her brilliance by UP Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav. She has also been gifted a house and a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs. She has also been offered free education at Mohd. Ali Jauhar University, Rampur by Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan who is also the Chancellor of the University.

Impressive, right?
